Five Bad Site

This is way to many things going on here for a kid to deal with being that it is a kids site.

The index page looks good but type is really hard on the eyes and when you navigate through the site it seems just to get to flashy and dis aligned in some areas.

Now this is an outdoors site... It is my opinion that the outdoors should be represent with settle colors like earth browns, greens, red, etc.

This site negative space is not being used appropriately.

Too much going on in the background and the header text is overly exaggerated, some flashy little lines going on constantly, and hard to read. Awful site for an animal site.

Text and Images RED Website

This is my index file where I linked all my sites to it. The 4 files for the Haiku Poem, the first Red Website, text only, and the second Red Website with text and images.

.......

The intention for this website was to design it fun, elegant, energetic, and bold but not making it look flashy. Anyhow, it needs more work, pictures need to be replaced and frame in a box or literally framed in a vintage frame. Also the code needs a bit more work.

More Red Roughs

Red roughs, I am considering to make it an informative site about the history of 3 desserts: Chocolate, ice cream, and cupcakes. Why? Because red brings joy. Any what gives our bodies an instance of of boost of N ER G filled with joy... DESSERTS.

Anyhow, this will be the layout for the next four pages/files, title, chocolate, ice cream, and cupcakes.

By the way the title might change...

First Red Website

The first page is a short story involving characters from movies, books, and history that are Being Red through their statues in society, like being famous or infamous. And to described them as Being Red I used adjectives and nouns like killer, scoundrel, intense, fashionable, powerful and  many more.

In the second page objects and characters that trigger one's mind to Think Red were used to create short stories, poems, or phrases involving red.

Now in the third page Feeling Red, which I did not finish, more stories follow but with the use of verbs that related to Red emotionally, such as distraught, love, passionate, upset and more.

Anyhow, Red is a color of intense emotions that conflict like love and hate. Red can symbolize power or statues. For example, in 1500's the cardinals wore red robes and King Louis XIV used it a lot in his wardrobe. The Neolithic believed that Red had life giving powers so they painted their bodies with red blood from animals when going to battle. Today many cultures in Asia use it as a symbolism of purity, happiness, and prosperity. Furthermore, it is used as a color of caution and danger in a lot of signs today. Red is the HOTTEST of warm colors, yellow and orange and in nature it symbolizes change like the seasons. Red is bold and attractive to the eye. It's one of those colors that yells look at me.

Red Website Theme

The theme for the first 3 red pages is to create a short story or stories based on the research done on the color. The files or pages are BEING, THINKING, & FEELING Red.

Now these short story contain popular movie phrases, actors names, riddle, poems, and people know for certain political scandals. The idea is to create a site with a little fun twist in content.

Linking Haiku Pages

I placed the text on the bottom to reinforce the phrase and give it more power and red on HOT to emphasize the importance of the adjective used to describe the wires
The light green bar represent grass and the text was place on the bottom of it because what ever is throbbing has yet not bloomed.
Here the Urgent Appeals from the previous page have bloomed from the grass. Blooming is yellow a representation of the sun and the poppies that have bloomed.

Revised Haiku Poem

A white B to encourage the viewer to begin reading from top to bottom and as
a symbol for white clouds.

Red on Hot emphasizing intensity and the danger that wires carry.

Yellow on Blooming  with letters slightly scaling in size emphasizing growth and representation of the sun.

Turquoise blue represents the sky and the freshness that comes with it.

Variation in text sizes is chosen to creative movement, importance, and balance.

Mod Cloth is a successful site :)

The Mod Cloth http://www.modcloth.com/ is a women vintage fashion site which function beautifully. It is consistent in color and layout. The main layout I find is in an L shape, meaning tabs that deal with the overall site are at the top and left side of the page. For example, shop, account, blog, about us, help tabs are all layout horizontally across and apparel, accessories, shoes, gift certificates, shop by brand tabs, etc... are layout out vertically down. Choice of color is very clean, white is the choice for background through out the site, top tabs are the same light gray, with a light pink on tabs used as a highlight for the eye, and images are a moderate size to view. Furthermore, when viewing  a page with multiple items, they are space away from each other perfectly even though they are not layout in an isolated box. Nothing on this site is overwhelming to look at. It even has a site map where all items on the website are organized under a category with no images to make it easier for the shopper to find what she is looking for.

Discovery Channel functions as a good site

The Discovery Channel http://dsc.discovery.com/ has a successful layout, considering it is an informative site which requires plenty of text and images, it is attractive to the eye. Its choice of earth green, grays, and blue colors are perfect since it deals with our Earth living things and amazing discoveries. And even though each page is not exactly the same to the home page, it still has a consistency to use tabs at the top of each one which you can click and scroll in its category. Plus there is plenty of space between text which make it easy on the eye to read. It has not flashing colors, pictures have great resolution, and videos seem to function well.

Really Bad Religious Site

This Evangelical Charismatic Protestant site just not consistent  http://dokimos.org/home.html, I mean home page seems tranquil through it pastel colors and moderate moving text but when you decide to view other pages, it just not following it home page layout and choice of color. On the contrary on is filled with a rainbow of color moving horizontally, way to fast, it fills to me like a gay disco club. And if you go to the introduction page it has a dark blue background with rain drops. Anyhow, I don't think this religious site can provide a good sense of direction towards finding Jesus when it is not consistent itself.

Lings Cars Bad site

Lings Cars website, http://www.lingscars.com/ is one of the worst sites to visit when looking to lease a car. The interface has no direction on where to start. It is overloaded with text, color, and animation. There is lots of color but no beauty. It's overwhelming to look at. In order to find what you are looking for, you would probably have to spend hours on the site. And even when navigating away from the interface the rest of the site is just as over- whelming.
